Ciara Coulter ’24 COE Selected as Undergraduate Student Speaker for 181st Commencement Ceremony
For the second consecutive year, a Villanova University College of Engineering student has been chosen as the student speaker for the 2024 Undergraduate Commencement. Ciara Coulter ’24 COE, a chemical engineering major from Chalfont, Pa., was selected after an extensive tryout process that included competitions within and across Villanova’s colleges.

On April 21, Villanova University’s Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (IIE) hosted its 13th annual Pitch Day. Held each April, Pitch Day gives students from across the University’s six schools and colleges the opportunity to showcase their creativity and entrepreneurial spirit.
Philadelphia Archbishop Nelson J. Pérez, D.D. to Deliver Villanova University’s 2024 Commencement Address
The Rev. Peter M. Donohue, OSA, PhD, Villanova University President, announced that Philadelphia Archbishop the Most Revered Nelson J. Pérez, D.D., will address the Class of 2024 as the University’s commencement speaker. Archbishop Pérez will also receive the degree of Doctor of Sacred Letters, honoris causa.

Vincent Lloyd, PhD, Named 2024 Guggenheim Fellowship Recipient
Vincent Lloyd, PhD, a professor of Theology and Religious Studies and Director of the Center for Political Theology at Villanova University, has been named a 2024 Guggenheim Fellow. Chosen through a rigorous application and peer review process from a pool of almost 3,000 applicants, Dr. Lloyd is one of 188 fellows selected for this prestigious fellowship based on “career achievement and exceptional promise.”
